Wednesfield Technology Primary has achieved the Inclusive Attendance Bronze Award, recognising its commitment to embedding inclusive attendance practice and ensuring pupils and families receive the support they need to thrive.
The award was presented during a Trust-wide Inclusive Attendance Conference, held at the new Shireland Training Centre in Oldbury. The event brought together academy leaders and attendance teams from across the Trust to celebrate progress, share best practice and prepare for the next stage of the Inclusive Attendance Standard programme.
The Bronze Award recognises schools that have embedded effective systems, shared expectations and inclusive approaches that support positive attendance across the whole school community.
As part of the programme, Wednesfield Technology Primary reflected on its current practice and explored how its approaches can continue to evolve, ensuring staff have the knowledge and confidence to support pupils effectively.
Following this achievement, Wednesfield Technology Primary will continue its development through the Silver Award stage of the Inclusive Attendance Standard programme, building on its existing strengths and identifying further opportunities to enhance practice.
School Principal, Claire Keeler, said: “Every day provides our children with opportunities to learn something new, challenge themselves and develop the skills they need for the future. We know that education is about more than what happens in the classroom; it’s about helping children become confident, independent learners who are ready to embrace new experiences.
“Our approach to attendance is built around creating positive experiences for children and working closely with families so that every pupil feels supported to take part fully in school life. When children feel a sense of belonging and understand they are valued members of our community, they are more likely to engage, participate and make the most of every opportunity available to them.”
The Bronze Award is the first stage of the Inclusive Attendance Standard Programme and recognises schools that have demonstrated a clear commitment to inclusive attendance practice through professional development, reflection and implementation.
